The killers of cows
will be punished after they die
by Vishnu,
the one true
god (all others being lies -
the Yahwehs and Allahs,
Zeus, Odin, Pallas
Athene, though the aesthete cries
in me, to lose the mighty Grecians).

Cows, but no dogs,
no felines, but those hogs
with minds beautiful, like Russel Crowe’s.
Beautiful, with even toes,
was Sarah the ungulate
for the Alabamans to strangulate
for Trader Joe’s.
Such sins shall be reckoned -
but most of all, the deaths of cows,
with failed harvests, broken plows,
and famines in the offing.

Those that are scoffing
at my prophecy, hark!
The gospel of Mark
says similar things -
the mountains shall be felled,
the cities be shelled,
and G-d’s plan unveiled
when Christ shall be king.

I say when it’s time,
not lions, but kine
shall wreak havoc …
