So I am alone as always

Makes me feel like I've been there.
Besides those first two lines, I especially liked:
"So we leave the bloody apes behind
(old mind tapes can be wiped clean)"

"like the cylinder gimmick in the adding machine
that magnetizes rage patterns."

I'm still working on mine, but it looks like I'm going to have to step up my game.

Tranquility Base noted my example of segments was a bit confusing
so I updated it. I copied the update in the p.s. below so you won't
have to go back and read through the rest of it:

    Here's a sample of the text with example segments in bold. They must consist
    of at least three consecutive words:

    Before they blow up a star they have a spot picked out as many light years
    away as possible — Then they start draining all the fuel and charge to the
    new pitch and siphon themselves there right after and on their way rejoicing
    — You notice we don’t have as much time as people had say a hundred years
    ago? — Take your clothes to the laundry write a letter pick up your mail at
    American Express and the day is gone — They are short-timing us as many
    light years as they can take for the getaway

    And you could use those to make up these phrases:

    A hundred years to take his clothes to the laundry.
    Pick up your mail and blow up a star.

    Adding "to" and "and" and changing "your" to "his" are allowed:
    See 4. and 5. in the guidelines
