It's not satisfying without rhythm... I agree, and tried to address it subtly if not effectively.

It's just my musical sensibilities. But, I'm more of a do-er than an explainer. What I had in mind was some kind of coda that brought home the rhythm you had established earlier (which it seemed you were trying to do with syllable count). 

I get this same response from my kids when they're practicing piano and I intrude on their mental space to show them how I think it should be played.   I will leave you to it.
