I was hoping there was enough on the page to give a complete portrait of Hazel Motes, e.g. without research, so I've got more work to do.
However I don't mind leading folks to Wiseblood. This is based more on the experience of viewing John Huston's film version of the story though I've read the novel (after I saw the film).

My comment on research was more about me than the poem. I definitely got the image of Hazel's life, just never heard of him and figured there might be something to look up. Love the last line, by the way.
