Movie is a bastard word
the diminution of a miracle;
let us call them what they are
a moving picture, the static image
made kinetic, silent at first
then the moving images began to speak,
and music came to thread together the images
that spoke to us, until the experience
became more real, more beautiful
became extraterrestrial.

There are no bad movies,
only failed miracles.

I've heard this about a famous director who believed it was like witnessing god, because of the sheer number of people and events that all have to come together so precisely to make the piece of art.
