Blink in a lifetime

This bottom has no end,
I have reached the top again-
strangers holding torches
obscure the path ahead


Oracles impaled
weave gray tales,
succubus across the river
tightens their thread


The only certainty lies in me,
but when it starts to get dark,
I can’t see my hands
and I fear
I will disappear
again
