#1 IN CLOUD CALLING
read an ad that flashed by
on a monitor-screen side
and visions formed...

Clear blue sky, atop a clean-cut knoll
encircled at respectful distance by
politely-clapping golf-style fans
with perhaps a modest wind-sock
to assist in judging;

there a master stands, all clothed
in flowing pearl-gray robes
with regulation Aeolian harp
crying loudly and emotionally
for  SHA-ADE, SHA-ADE,
HERE-SHADE, COME-SHADE
SHADE-SHADE-SHAY-EEEED!

And for a few
true Number One cloud-callers
a little puffy cumulus or three
or a small plump rainy nimbus
drifts over that green tumulus
and stops

to be counted, measured
and appreciatively applauded.

The caller takes a bow
and the clouds no longer charmed
frisk away
whistling softly
searching for trees to scratch against.
