What made electricity so strange?
It was not the first invisible
for wind and water pressure could
be made to move machinery.
Fire mysterious and terrible
could at least be seen
but electricity caused distant
changes without motion on command.
First magic needing no necromancy–
then sibling magnetism’s influence
dispensed entirely with wires to
let magic bloom in empty space.
