Fingers of a marionette;
pen in one hand, trying to remember.
Stroke begins to taper.

Arching around
making a striation
with burns and tears
sprouted of his nightmares.

The finished result
is a monstrosity
but perhaps most of all;
those marionette hands
that created him. 

After, he reclines to the depths
drifting sleeplessly in an abyss.
