excuse this but it seems like we were working on similar poems:
Eden was a maze not a garden,
even the serpent was lost.
Naming things was just a distraction
and the rib business a bit of hocus-pocus
Adam’s first lesson was loneliness
So God made Eve
And Adam’s loneliness seemed to grow.
The serpent comes calling like a bad soft drink ad
Eve is sold after her taste test,
hard Apple cider laced with good and evil,
then we get Adam and Eve’s Very Very Bad Day,
since then we’ve been here on our global penal colony
like crickets in a hollow log.
