That being the case, I've edited by italicizing it as a foreign word. In US parlance it implies cheapness (20 cents for a standard pack of instant ramen); freshly-made ramen in a Japanese region's characteristic style and toppings, not so much aside from connections with the black market and yakuza during the Occupation. Wonderful thing, Wikipedia, so long as there's no political axe to grind.
