TKB,

I assume that, "lanterne" is an illusion to "À la lanterne!". However, I don't see how it relates to the rest of the poem. I see the two are juxtaposed under "War", but I just don't see the connection. The first example is related to passion, but the second is dispassionate. Enlightenment?
