Three haiku written in Osaka

a crow laughs
at the crowd of tourists below --
winter morning

from naked ginkyo
to naked ginkyo, sparrows
leap and sing

winter sunset
at the umeda sky building:
a boiled egg

Fun, fine, intricately simple.

 I looked up the Umeda Sky Building:  what a very Japanese concept, an aerial ring restaurant that - unlike, say, the Space Needle or Tower of the Americas - looks inward to look outward.
