Serenity By William Marsland.
#1
Dancing flippy-flop in the breeze
boughs of red-faced bougainvillea
delight a pastel orange day
and hide the stern grey palisade

Blues and white of trailing lobelia trickle
from broken-rimmed terracotta pots
to cover puddlesque, a corner of the courtyard
home to satin winged butterflies and bees

Warbler’s perched on tall bamboo grasses
chitter-chatter to yellow headed African marigolds
while giant sunflowers sway to unseen wind chimes
like entranced cobras dancing to the flute

The parasol casting just enough shade
for afternoon tea in an afternoon tea garden
served on a silver tray with strawberry filled scones
accompanied by the perfect music of a tinkling stream

the edited version; taking into account the feedback from post #2

Dancing flippy-flop in the breeze
boughs of red-faced bougainvillea
delight a pastel orange day
and hide the stern grey palisade

Blues and white of trailing lobelia trickle
from broken-rimmed terracotta pots
and puddle in the far corner of the courtyard
home to bees and satin winged butterflies

Warbler’s perched on tall bamboo grasses
chitter-chatter to yellow headed African marigolds
giant sunflowers standing proud above the herbs
sway comely to a melody of unseen wind chimes

The parasol casting just enough shade
for afternoon tea in an afternoon tea garden
served on a silver tray with strawberry filled scones
accompanied by the perfect music of a tinkling stream
