Happy to defer to you on meter, but...
Couple of thoughts.
What a friend we have in Facebook
I don’t talk to Jesus no more,
[for] Facebook hears me cry’in
the long line just looks odd to me.
I got me a buddy who’s mostimes there,
(isn't it 'most times', or hyphenated?)
tells me I’m pretty and he don’t care
if I fool around or never share
Not sure about 'never share'
(in the context of facebook)
‘cause he’s a friend of mine.
I don’t talk to Jesus no more,
[for] Facebook is on the line.
[W]oke up this mornin’ and logged right in,
[was] asked for a selfie, [which] ain’t no sin,
so I stuck my phone where it shouldn’t have bin’
‘cause he’s a friend of mine.
I don’t talk to Jesus no more,
[for] Facebook treats me fine.
I’m gonna meetwith my friend tonight
'meetwith'? I rather like it though.
at a place he knows, called ”Candle-light”.
why not 'candle-lite'?
Does seem to call for a better facebook related joke,
(And no, best I've got is either "The Poke and Like"
or "Follow and Like")
I googled it, and it don’t sound right,
'it' twice?
cut first comma?
But he’s a friend of mine.
Best, Knot.
it's vernacular but not without sin. You are right on most-times...not even sure about the hyphen. I usually talk without hyphens when relaxed. Never share...saving herself for only him...that's all. I suppose that if I'm going all Yankee I'd better change to Candle-Lite but grudgingly. (See Candle-light porn. Best to change. See how I listen?)
the it-it IS vernacular...it stays...and how funny is it, anyway. Hmmmm....
Best and respect, tectak
