it seems to me being a good artist is about the willingness to risk failure (that is good artist as in good practice). also, this questioning about should i let people read this or let them read that, is all very pompous and self-important. you’re not exactly setting the poetry world alight with your best stuff so god knows what you’ve got in the trunk... kindling probably. i say scatter it all about. show it off. flop your wad on the table and say “wrap ya mince pies round that!” some might point and laugh... but, chances are, you might get sucked off by a few!
