I'm definitely not making the free speech argument because honestly you have no right to free speech. That's a fallacy.
I'm not leading any charge. Im only responding.
The only battle I'm fighting is the one where we all pretend to care and be "genuinely" offended. No one gets offended when some yells "nigger". They point, yell back, then post it on the internet for likes, hoping it will go viral.
Then the talking heads talk about race in America and how it is impossible for the brother to get a fair shake, despite systematic attempts to prop him up*.
Then we have to listen to some criminals complain about police brutality and racism but typically at the end of the day the reason the police were called was because something illegal was going on. Does that justify shooting a guy in the back? No. But that's not racism, it's incompetence but in America racism is so sexy we aren't calling it anything but.
Racism exists. Focusing on it as a reason for your failures (on both sides) is a genuine waste of time. Nothing would piss a kkk card carrying hick worse than a successful black man.
My point is people who have a good life and a strong community do not think about race or statues any where but on the internet, unless they can make a buck off it.
This makes it clear that is was never really about the "opportunity forgone", now was it?
Honesty from the start makes for better discourse.
You have a problem - not with them taking statues down - but with WHY they are taking them down.
Feel free to explicate.
