that said. i think it's got to be a bit more than the 20 sheets.
what about if wells fargo simply divests it's balance sheet into ten smaller companies with wells fargo as the conglomerate head. (it's called a loophole.)

thats why a 20 sheeter won't cut it. too many loopholes.

Aparently there are no loop holes. Wells will have to break up into smaller companies that can not be owned or controlled by the same.

they're saying you can't be one big company but you can be ten little ones.
all they're doing is turning the large banks into conglomerates. which will make it harder to sort them out. instead of checking one company tax return they have to check 10
instead of one yearly golden handshake there's ten. the overheads are more expensive and that will be passed down.

i love the idea of capping a companies total income etc, because it sets up the market place for more competition and in the end run better value. but to let the big guns divest into smaller companies they still own is ludicrous i think.

this actually sounds like one of those instances where the money men are laughing their tits off and rubbing their hands together.

Well no I read it that they have to break it up and sell it off to an outfit that is not in any way related to them. Did you read the 20 page bill, Bill?
