been blessed with four children
and six grandchildren,

and could never find
an ideal time
to go.

I saw "Pearl", thought "Pearl poet?" -- bad angle. Interesting how the hero could be someone else: either she's the one who's now stuck in the current form, or someone else messed up on the waiting game. Reminds me of another piece of yours: "Event Horizon". I wonder how else they're related...
