A little miracle

We chased the holy lamb of god
all around the paddock.
 
God was really good at running away
and changing direction.
 
His voice wasn’t what we’d expected.
He had pink lips, kiss curls all over
and his bum was dirty.
 
We tied him to the fence under the pines
with a bit of string while we went home
for a bucket and scrubbing brush
 
but we had to have lunch first
and when we came back
god had vanished.                              
 
 

this is a great  way to say that we have no clue about god! and maybe that in spite of that we try to shape him into some form that fits us best.
and it´s funny, respect for that as well.
my only suggestion would be that you write just "sacrificial lamb" instead "holy lamb of God".
by the way, good idea to decapitalize god in the end.
