Sadly, I worry more about the school volunteers than anyone else. 
I think sports coaches have a reputation for being the worst offenders (the guy coaching your daughter's traveling volleyball team). Then again, the bus driver knows where you live.....
I think that people are more willing to make a public spectacle out of someone caught doing bad things because there's no personal connection to someone halfway across the country, whereas before it meant turning on a member of your community. That's my take on it, anyway.
