I use this technique all the time. You can blend something and store it in the fridge
without ever having to decant it -- and no possibility of having the regular blender top
pop off and spray the kitchen ( hence "sovereign walls" ?).
I think the reason the Oster blender has the same thread was that it was an intentional
design choice so it could be used this way. Back when the Oster first came out, mason/ball
jars were a common kitchen storage container.
