Here's a song I just wrote today. My singing is very shaky. I'm going to try and change the melody in the 1st & 3rd stanza's slightly because it's very similar (basically identical) to a section in the song "Memo to my Son" by Randy Newman, which I just learned to play.

Lyrics:
I mopped up the floor of the washroom
and scrubbed all the gunk from the sink.
I squeegeed the mirrors and windows
discovered the cause of the stink,
you only noticed that I hadn’t changed the trash
I’d give my notice and I never would come back
but I’ve got to take care of my little girl.
We live in a basement apartment
and she takes a bus to her school.
None of her friends ever visit
‘cause she doesn’t think that I’m cool.
I go and watch her when she’s playing in the band
they sound like someone playing drums with pots and pans
but I’ve got to take care of my little girl.
