since govs began they've tried to control us.
while to some extinct they succeed, in general they fail. few govs have
leaders or parties in perpetuity. for some reason someone or something kicks them up the arse for a rethink. everything changes. what seems totalitarian one day seems liberal the next.
as far as china goes, in truth it's coming out of being a totalitarian state.
and the usa, well of course the big boy like to bully but most western countries arent scared of telling it to fuck off if needed.
i think the totalitarian state feels more close at hand because we have a global economy with ties to most other nations. it makes sense to unify certain rules.
