Blood on the boards

I scoured the boards to see
this battle of poesy
but found only the usual posts and commentary
given without having read
poems better left for dead -
no trace of this great saga told by thee.
The doors of the old woolshed
in Coonabarabran are scrubbed
each day to kill graffiti.
Did the newbie poet, snubbed,
his cigarette of fancy stubbed,
delete all his pompous posts from the piggery?

This is a tale of purest confection
born of disdain and dispensed without care;
never did happen, this vile insurrection --
everyone knows that my temper is fair.

Newbies are never annoying, I swear,
reading the rules before posting a jot,
full critiques given with several more spare,
very respectful, more often than not.

No darling newbie has ever been shot,
stabbed or exploded -- you're right to have doubted --
Dale's never calm, Todd just giggles a lot,
Billy's a Pom so he'd never have shouted.

This event's fiction, although on reflection
I wouldn't fight -- I prefer vivisection.
