Thanks for the feedback, kolemath, CRNDLSM (see-are-en-dee-el-es-em? or kren-del-ism?). I wrote this in a frenzy, and I'm never sure if such frenzies bear good fruit or bad. Responses:
seven minutes -- eclipses can last up to seven minutes, though usually they last for much shorter. so it's both -- "how plants eat, how men see" is sunlight.
television -- something like that. the images are a blend between the myth of Hippomenes winning Atalanta (lion's den, "Hippomenes winning Atalanta...") and Adventure Time ("egress", flute duet), and the trajectory of the theme sort of follows....
summer of my verse -- ....that being, at least in its most moral sense, getting out of puberty with one's virginity intact, xD.
