viewing Jupiter through a telescope.
A sphere, the sunlight on it's surface
gradually curving into deep shadows.
A pale red smudge around the middle
and surrounding it four bright moons.
"It's half a billion miles away", I said,
showing you.
And you said,
"Huh, those five dots?"
As my axis shifted and sent me spinning
in a mercurial orbit towards the pub.

I wrote to NASA and complained about them naming a probe the same name as an asteroid, that's crazy, you wouldn't call it the Mercury probe. NASA wrote back and said that when I've learnt to use the apostrophe correctly they will consider my opinion.
Thanks for pointing that one out, I can't believe I've made that damn mistake again.
