My father made himself a gun
pulled out a pistol just for fun.
He carved himself an old flintlock
its barrel primed, the trigger cocked
then waved it high no safety on.

So big it made his hand go numb
one click ignites the powders run
I have to say that I was shocked
Never give a child a gun

For as the fire-balls life begun
a trail of flames went round the sun
and landed on our neighbours frock,
police were called they took the lot,
a caution since no harm was done.
