Nearer to God

These pestilential people cause concern
that by their thinking get too close to me.
A planned ten billion years before return
to me, the maker, was the guarantee;
yet here they come, with knowledge newly gained.
Damned Higgs, I looked away, and he sneaked in.
I could have been a little less restrained
and snuffed his "Boson", it was mine to bin;
but in benevolence I gave him due,
and that was where I made my first mistake.
The gates were opened, every one rushed through,
with leptons, quarks, and gluons for god's sake.
They're getting closer every hundred years.
Before too long I may be forced to act.
To Hawkins first; for him and all his peers,
I'll ban black holes and forces that attract.
Of course, this only if I find I must;
things would go badly wrong for gravity.
The worst case? All there is returns to dust.
That's not so bad. At least there'd still be me.

this is a rather enjoyable, narrative and deep poem to read. I find it fascinating and makes me, as the reader think, your scientific references are ironic when religion and science arguments are so controversial. Simply awesome!
