Response to the Writer of Only Cinquain

They are a traditional culture, a collective, no individual mind,
they like it that way, living in the past, a few centuries behind

what? what? what?
Tomonaga, Yukawa, Taniyama, Shimura,
Esaki, Tonegawa, Shirakawa, Omura,
Ichikawa, Mochizuki, Akira Suzuki,
even that Kurosawa, and if you ask 'who's Yuki'
of the manga-maddened mopkins
they'll come back with 'who's that Hopkins'?
Praise the Japanese, pass the cakes here -
Rashomon's opening beats all Shakespeare.

(the last is to be deliberately provocative)
