How does the human mind,
the minter's anvil and the merchant's shoe,
take the hammer of a story
once told, then repeated
ad infinitum?
Why, we ring with pleasure, of course!
That's what the blacksmith taught us
when he poured we molten children in the cast,
then gave us our diplomas.
The stories say each anvil is unique,
with some having one horn, and others having two,
but an anvil is an anvil is an anvil,
and a horse's shoe still kisses the dirt
even if it was made of gold.
So joy always comes from tales twice told,
and after the break comes the commercial.
