lapping waves
thirsty dog i am
rolling,
licking salt and
drinking
crystal clear
underneath the water
more sand: dark, smooth
and shells, and other treasures
and wriggling guests
and hosts
water sneaks back;
i wait
am thirsty,
hungry not.
