Sometimes
we become so engrossed
in the how of a poem,
we completely fail to notice
if it says anything of value.

I am both sympathetic and unsympathetic to your position, Tharmas.

On the one hand, one of the reasons I don't care for vignettes is that they don't say anything.  on the other hand a poem that gets caught up in "saying something" is like a fart joke - never really worth reading twice.
