I would call it Crucifixion and Birth. Definitely leave it as it is. It has an archetypal quality, don't mess it up. As far as the other people being formal, I think a story is in order. I was once going to go play at a place that didn't usually get the type of music I was playing at the time, although I could play more of what they were use to, it wouldn't be much fun for me. I discussed it with a friend of mine who was older and a seasoned musician. He said, "Play what you enjoy, if you are enjoying playing, they will enjoy it also."
