The thing about charging victims for their own rape kits... I'm being optimistic here, so I'm just gonna assume it's out of stinginess/ lack of funds on the part of the police department. It's despicable, but it's less despicable than the idea that it's the police's backhanded way of punishing rape victims.
I think there are quite a few cases out there of women having consensual sex and crying rape; no denying that. But what I can't stand is implications about women 'provoking' the assault. Excuse me? In other crimes, such as murder, you don't pardon the killer because the victim was being a dick to him. You don't pardon a robber because the man he mugged had 'no business' wearing a nice watch. It's maddening.
