Bandwidth or headtime? If bandwidth, I'll say
in my defense that I did reduce it from 300k to 60k;
if headtime, well... we all take chances.

I stood as oily bruisers do and feigned

Charming, especially

Had to look up "Duchenne"; I'd venture " Smile " isn't.

I'm reasonably happy, though I love response.
I'm always hoping for parody, sincerity, or (best of all) both.

Explicatiously, the real question is: "Is she sincere?"
I think the using "heads" instead of them, and (especially)
the line two. The only decent valedictorian that would
use that construction is one that's mentally ill
(either that or an inchoate  writer).

P.S. As an inside joke (that has now escaped), that's a graduation
photo of Leanne. If she is the actual protagonist, then she is
quite sincere. But, knowing Leanne, the bodies are well hidden.
And, while she would be the obvious suspect, not a "shred" of
evidence would ever be found.
