I liked that you used Cat without "the."  It makes it more of a "character" in the poem, and not just an object.  I actually imagined the expression on Cat's face.  :-)

hiya Paul, glad you liked. my cat's name was Cat (apparently i watched Breakfast at Tiffany's one too many times as a child...),
so yes, that was the intent. does it not work here? i am always open to suggestions.
