Thanks, dale, for your clear explanation. When I attempt a sonnet I do try to put a turn somewhere around L9 in addition to the couplet. Also, I did not intentionally abandon IP, it's just subpar writing, a case of amateur wishful thinking, or a not yet well- trained ear, take your pick. I appreciate the time you are taking with this.
