I like the metaphor and humour used in this and "smooth" was the perfect choice of word with which to end it.
The whole poem and especially the last line reminded me of a quote I found a few months ago...

"The drops of rain make a hole in the stone, not by violence, but by oft falling." - Lucretius

Although to be honest it's just not as funny as your poem.
