Dark Fun
#1
I venture beneath the deepest chasm
Escaping rays of light
I wield a darkly spade of black
Whose crust is my delight

I sprinkle burnt out coal above
Upturning dirt and dig
And break my empty bourbon glass
And Revel my last swig

I never loved the silver moon
Reflecting manly light
What sun was I who fell in soot
Upon my hidden pike

I fell my human self upon
My sword and now I carve
A deathly hole inside the earth
To hide beneath the stars

Explosive burning angels bright
That burn from ages far
Cannot be veiled enough from me
Who drowns in bubbling tar.

Be this my note, this scribbled out
Confession of my plunge
When I forsook the day and frothed
Amidst the dirt and grunge.

O silver moon if you were just
You’d be a barren rock
An edifice of faceless stone
To harden up my stroll

But as you are you’ll witness me
See my bleeding hand
That’s spiked in cracked and sharded glass
Go tell your starry band!
