Depends on the publication -- if it's one you're proud to be associated with, go for it. If it's a dodgy little "we'll publish anything with tits in it" type of job, you might hesitate...
But you have excellent taste and I know you'd only go with one that publishes clever things with tits in. Generally speaking, these are not paying gigs although some will throw you a token $10 or so. The advantage to contributing to such pubs is that you get another credential to list when you're going for actual paying gigs (because those are the ones that are always super impressed to see a list of how much you've been prepared to prostitute yourself to goodwill before you've crawled across their hallowed thresholds). Room for growth? Probably not, at least not immediately. Room for greater acknowledgment of your achievements as a writer?
