I was referencing the final line to the final scene in I think every Scooby Doo. They unmask the ghost he's "Old Man Harper" or something. Harper says to no one in particular: "And I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for those meddling kids."
So as long as the mask stays on, they're getting away with it.
