Hey, comrades.
I'm Michelle, a lifelong bookworm who majored in biochemistry despite a nagging desire to pursue poetry. I posted on the xenith.net forums a bit when I was a kid, and at 24 I'm ready to give poems another try. My biggest influences are Philip Levine, Charles Bukowski, Pablo Neruda, Alan Ginsberg, Sylvia Plath, Raymond Carver, and David Foster Wallace (who is not technically a poet, but still).
I was the poetry editor for a small-time literary magazine's back in the day, and I've read enough to feel comfortable humbly critiquing others. I'm far less comfortable with my own rusty writing skills, however, so I'm ready for some brutally honest criticisms. I look forward to being inspired by the writers here, and hope to be a helpful part of the community.
Cheers,
LittleOwl
