I voted no, simply because it seems like a lot of time and work to impose on two people to do something which is more fun as a group activity anyway. Also, I can't speak for everyone, but I'm not a qualified teacher and have no (or at least very little) experience of teaching anyone anything. This is, after all, an amateur poetry site, where hobbyists meet to share, discuss and critique their creations, or at least that's how I see it, so a mentoring system sounds very rigid and institutional, like this is a school. This is all JMHO, of course.
That said, if someone is interested in being mentored and another person wants to mentor them, I see no problem at all with that.
