		i thought this was a q and a thread.
A: read a lot of poetry, write a lot of poetry, edit a lot of poetry.
A: a haiku supposedly paints one, basho did so in 9 syls
old pond . . .
a frog leaps in
water’s sound
though it's a translation.
ezra pound after reading some haiku,
"In a Station of the Metro" by Ezra Pound
The apparition of these faces in the crowd;
petals on a wet, black bough.
In the poem, Pound describes a moment in the underground metro station in Paris; Pound suggested that the faces of the individuals in the metro were best put into a poem not with a description but with an "equation". Because of the treatment of the subject's appearance by way of the poem's own visuality, it is considered a quintessential Imagist text.
source, wiki though i got the poem elsewhere and the knowledge of it.
