Thanks fogglethorpe, fixed the typo, and yes it does refer to the present in an oblique way. I recognize the thought here is not too deep, I mean there is no mystery here, just an attempt to make everything moderately cryptic. Since I am a newbie and not very well versed with the technicalities of poetry, I just keep trying my hand at different ideas, with (shamefully) no regard to any of the poetic techniques. I am glad you liked it. BTW what is a "performance piece".
