This was a poem I wrote for a fantasy creatures competition. Everyone else wrote upbeat descriptions of fairies, unicorns and mermaids.
Enter the fray and meet your end,
My dwelling takes time to comprehend,
My powerful form is a grotesque blend,
To preserve your life you must defend.
I have disposed of a thousand great men,
They stood no chance toe to toe in my pen,
Blood lust satisfied,
But it starts up again,
Their bodies paint the walls of my solemn den.
I am the beast who will tear you apart,
Half-man,
Half bull,
But devoid of a heart,
Kiss your loved ones goodbye when you do depart,
Study their faces; you'll die for my art.
