America was partly founded on the need to live somewhere where people could freely engage in hate speech and anti-everything propaganda without being intruded on by government and church. And it worked, America's a powerful place.

So far, maybe make the lyrics at the beginning of each part in italics. Don't have to, but I think it would look ok. And the asterisks, maybe take those out, since the notes are gone.
