A dismal, lofty tower, far away
holds a girl, her mane as spun-gold
which glitters like the sun's rays
on a drop of dew at dawn, behold.
Her golden tresses touch the ground
as she lets them loose to tumble
by the little window, staring out,
her lonely heart starts to crumble.
She longs to feel the touch of grass
beneath her feet and wonders how
it feels to soak in rain, how it
feels to run untamed, just for now.
Her eyes a pool of shimmering water
but she holds the ark of hope,
one day her man would come for her,
one day with him would she elope
She's fair as moon, She's Rapunzel,
what she dreams will come to pass;
one day she will run untamed,
she would feel the touch of grass.
holds a girl, her mane as spun-gold
which glitters like the sun's rays
on a drop of dew at dawn, behold.
Her golden tresses touch the ground
as she lets them loose to tumble
by the little window, staring out,
her lonely heart starts to crumble.
She longs to feel the touch of grass
beneath her feet and wonders how
it feels to soak in rain, how it
feels to run untamed, just for now.
Her eyes a pool of shimmering water
but she holds the ark of hope,
one day her man would come for her,
one day with him would she elope
She's fair as moon, She's Rapunzel,
what she dreams will come to pass;
one day she will run untamed,
she would feel the touch of grass.
