pondering my bandaged fingers this Saturday morning...
Bandaids hug my fingers,
camouflaged –
the color
of no one's skin.
Dimpled with unnatural regularity
(trying to be cheery?)
and painfully sticky.
Squeezing between knuckles,
demanding that my blood
stays blue.
